Important Information for Canvas Detroit:

  • There is no on-site parking. See below for parking suggestions.
  • This venue is on the second floor of the Claridge building. There are stairs and an elevator to access it. Unfortunately we have been told we cannot put up signs, so please make sure you find out where to go from the volunteer at the door!
  • The exterior building door is locked. We will have a volunteer at the door to let you in at the beginning of classes, during lunch, and at the Sunday presentation and dance.
    • If you arrive and there is no one to let you in, please DO NOT ring the buzzer, as it will notify the studio owners, not us. Please message us on Facebook; if you don’t get a response within 5 minutes, THEN AND ONLY THEN ring the buzzer.
  • The entrance to the building is under an awning and there are trees along the street.
Parking Information for Canvas Detroit

Please note: Motor City Swing is not responsible for parked cars! Canvas Detroit does not have on-site parking, so we reached out to the venue for recommendations and we are passing those recommendations to you.

  • Parking lot directly across Clifford Street south of the venue. This lot may be full depending on what else is going on downtown, and pricing is variable so it could be expensive.
  • Parking garage diagonally across the intersection of Clifford and Washington. Slightly farther away, but has a lot more space and fixed pricing.

  • DKFA has on-site parking. There is a lot directly next to the venue on Michigan Ave; as overflow there is also a lot behind the venue across the alleyway.
  • Street parking is also available on Michigan Ave and in the neighborhood behind the venue.
